Dr Jonathan Choi, Chairman of Sunwah Group, donated medical supplies to Vietnamese Ministries and the Vietnam National University Hanoi

Sunwah – On the morning of 31 March 2020, Sunwah Group donated 5,000 medical masks to the Vietnam National University Hanoi (VNUHN). These medical masks will be given to health workers and medical students who are interns at Bach Mai Hospital – the pioneer hospital in Hanoi’s fight against COVID-19 epidemic. The Donation Ceremony was held at the Executive Building of VNUHN with the participation of Mr Le Tuan Anh, Vice Director of Cooperation and Development Department. He shared that the Group’s donation of medical supplies for Vietnam at this time of hardship is highly appreciated.

On the afternoon, Sunwah Group also donated 10,000 medical masks to the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT). The Donation Ceremony took place at the Ministry’s office. Mr Phan The Anh, Deputy Chief of Office of MOIT and representatives of the Asia – Africa Market Department, received the donation from Sunwah Group on behalf of MOIT.

Later that day, Minister of MOIT Mr Tran Tuan Anh sent a thank you letter to Dr Jonathan Choi, Chairman of Sunwah Group. In the letter, he highly praised the contributions of Dr Choi and Sunwah Group to many activities of MOIT over the years. In addition, the Minister shared his delight to know that Sunwah and MOIT have resumed the foreign language advanced training for Ministry officials since the beginning of this year. On this occasion, the Minister also sent his congratulations to Sunwah on the 50th Anniversary of the Group’s operation in Vietnam. He affirmed that the partnership between MOIT and Sunwah Group in particular, as well as the friendship and economic – trade cooperation between Vietnam and Hong Kong in general will be further enhanced and developed in the coming time.

Thank you letter from Minister of MOIT Mr Tran Tuan Anh 

After the donation to MOIT, Sunwah Group donated 15,000 medical masks to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA). The Donation Ceremony took place at the Ministry’s office. On behalf of MOFA, Ms Doan Phuong Lan, Deputy Head of the General Economic Affairs Department, received the medical masks from Sunwah Group. At the Ceremony, Ms Doan Phuong Lan also expressed her joy and appreciation to Sunwah Group for the timely and meaningful donation.

On 13 April, Sunwah Group also donated 10,000 medical masks to the Ministry of Education and Training. The donation ceremony was held at the Ministry Headquarters in Hanoi, with the presence of Mr Nguyen Dinh Manh, Deputy Chief of the Ministry Office and Ms Trinh Hoai Thu, Deputy Director General of the Primary Education Department, Chairwoman of MOET Labor Union.

In this April, the Group plans to donate medical supplies and health technology package to Ho Chi Minh City government and the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City to support both parties in combating the Covid-19 epidemic. The medical and technological products donated by Sunwah are developed and produced by several Vietnamese startups.
