Mr Jesse Choi, Director of Sunwah Vietnam, visited Japan External Trade Organization in Ho Chi Minh City

Sunwah – On 26 October 2020, Mr Jesse Choi, Director of Sunwah Vietnam, had a meeting with Mr Shinji Hirai, Chief Representative of the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) in Ho Chi Minh City. During the meeting, Mr Jesse Choi introduced about Sunwah Group’s business worldwide and in Vietnam. He noted that this year marks the 50th Anniversary of Sunwah Group in Vietnam and invited Mr Hirai to join a series of celebratory events, including the “50 Student Environmental Ambassadors in Vietnam”, International Film Forum Hanoi, grand openings of USSH – Jonathan KS Choi Cultural Centre and Sunwah Innovation Center. Mr Jesse Choi also suggested co-organising activities with JETRO on innovation and cultural exchanges at the Cultural Centre and Innovation Center.

Both parties had an in-depth discussion about the rapid socio-economic development in Vietnam as well as the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan and also between Vietnam and Hong Kong. Mr Jesse Choi also shared that Sunwah Group has been acting as the bridge connecting Japanese enterprises in the fields of banking and technology with Vietnam. He noted that in 2018, Vietnam Prime Minister H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended a meeting hosted VinaCapital Group, of which Dr Choi is also the Chairman, with top Japanese enterprises in banking, finance and technology sectors.

Mr Hirai expressed his delight to participate in the large-scale 50th Anniversary Celebration of Sunwah Group in Vietnam. He believed that there is significant potential for cooperation and exchanges between both parties.
