Takungpao – On 13^th February 2018, Mr Johnson Choi, Executive Director of Sunwah Group, had a meeting with Mr Chen Xiao Dong, Communist Party Secretary of Rugao City; Mr Liu Xiang Yang, Secretary of Rugao Industrial Park and other officials from the Rugao City People’s Committee. After the meeting, Sunwah Group and Rugao City Government signed the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement.

Prior to the signing of Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement, Sunwah Group and Rugao City Government had many in-depth discussions on the development of industries in Rugao as well as how to seize opportunities and strengthen cooperation between the two sides. Both sides agreed that Rugao has significant potential in fields such as research and development for new-energy vehicles, software outsourcing, warehousing, shipping and others.

Mr Johnson Choi shared that the signing of Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement will promote infrastructure construction and economic development of Rugao City through the development of industrial sectors including modern warehousing, financial services, commodities trading and others. Under the Cooperation Agreement, Sunwah Group will plan its investment strategies in conjunction with the City’s economic development plan in order to strengthen Rugao City’s leading position in Jiangsu province.

Sunwah Group and Rugao City Government are expected to cooperate in the planning, design, construction and management of infrastructure as well as promoting trade relations to accelerate economic transition and upgrade public facilities in Rugao City.

Mr Chen Xiao Dong, Secretary of Rugao City, pointed out that there are many incentives for education and training as well as for software research and development which will lay solid foundation for the cooperative relation between Sunwah Group and Rugao City in other fields.  Mr Chen Xiao Dong also expressed his hope that Sunwah Group will have more projects at Rugao and strive to promote the effectiveness of the cooperative relation between the two parties.

Mr Johnson Choi also shared that, after conducting some research, he found out that Rugao possesses abundant cultural heritage, convenient transportation, clear regional advantage and has direction for the development of local industries which is in line with Sunwah Group’s development strategies. He confirmed to have more discussion with Rugao City Government to analyze the feasibility of the projects in order to open a new promising chapter for Sunwah Group and Rugao City.
