Sunwah – August 7, 2024 – Mr. Le Tien Chau, Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee, met and worked with Mr. Jason Choi, Vice Chairman of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area Entrepreneur Alliance (GBA) and Regional Director of Sunwah Group in GBA, in Shenzhen, China. The meeting was attended by Mr. Le Anh Quan, Standing Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong City People’s Committee; Mr. Le Trung Kien, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority; Ms. Dao Khanh Ha, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda Department; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Dung, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs. Representing Sunwah Group were Ms. Zhang Xuan, Executive Secretary General of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area Entrepreneur Alliance and Head of Sunwah Group’s GBA office; Mr. Leo Liu, Regional Business Director for the GBA; Ms. Katie Nguyen, Chief Representative of Sunwah Group in Ho Chi Minh City and Deputy General Director of Sunwah Vietnam; Ms. Janice Le, Chief Representative of Sunwah Group in Hanoi, and other senior leaders.

During the meeting, Mr. Jason Choi introduced the history of Sunwah Group’s operations in Vietnam and the GBA. He highlighted that the Greater Bay Area is China’s high-tech hub and is home to several international ports, free trade zones, and bonded warehouses. Meanwhile, Hai Phong is recognized as an international seaport and gateway to Hanoi, having achieved significant economic progress in recent years. Noting the industrial development alignment between the two regions, Mr. Jason Choi emphasized the potential for cooperation to capitalize on each side’s strengths. Through the Entrepreneur Alliance and Sunwah Group’s network and reputation, he is committed to encouraging Chinese enterprises to invest in Hai Phong, thereby enhancing the local supply chain and high-tech sectors. He also shared information about the upcoming China – Vietnam Investment, Trade, and Technology Innovation Exchange Conference, which is scheduled to be organized in Guangzhou in mid-November, and invited the Hai Phong delegation to participate.
Secretary Le Tien Chau expressed his appreciation for Sunwah Group’s capabilities in Vietnam and the Greater Bay Area. He hoped that Sunwah Group would continue to promote and encourage Chinese businesses to invest in Hai Phong. He also hoped the Group will establish an innovation center in Hai Phong to support Vietnamese startups in their going global journey.
On the same day, Mr. Jason Choi and the Sunwah delegation attended the “Hai Phong City Investment Promotion Conference in China.” During the conference, Mr. Jason Choi affirmed that China and Vietnam share common interests and sustainable development can only be achieved through strengthened regional cooperation.
