Sunwah Group Led Chinese Business Delegation Visits Vietnam’s Ministry Of Agriculture And Environment To Advance Cooperation In Agricultural Innovation And Sustainable Development

On the afternoon of May 28, 2026, Dr. Jonathan Choi, Chairman of Sunwah Group, led a Chinese business delegation on a visit to Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Environment. The delegation held a working meeting with Mr. Vo Van Hung, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment, to discuss cooperation opportunities in agricultural innovation, green agriculture, smart farming, agricultural digital transformation, water environment management, ecological protection, and sustainable development.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister Vo Van Hung welcomed Dr. Jonathan Choi and the Chinese business delegation, and introduced Vietnam’s key priorities in agricultural modernization, green transformation, and sustainable development. He emphasized that Vietnam attaches great importance to agricultural innovation, digital transformation, and value chain upgrading, and looks forward to strengthening cooperation with Chinese enterprises to attract advanced technologies, management expertise, and high-quality resources to support the development of a modern agricultural sector.

Dr. Jonathan Choi expressed his appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment. He noted that Vietnam possesses abundant agricultural resources and significant growth potential, while Chinese enterprises have accumulated extensive experience in agricultural technology, digital transformation, environmental protection, and infrastructure development. Drawing on Sunwah Group’s 56 years of experience in Vietnam, Dr. Choi reaffirmed the Group’s commitment to facilitating practical cooperation between Chinese and Vietnamese enterprises, thereby contributing to agricultural modernization and sustainable green development.

During the business exchange session, Mr. Liu Minyuan, General Manager of Sunwah Yunnan National Tea Co., Ltd., shared proposals for the development of Vietnam’s tea industry through brand building, international market expansion, and the integration of tea culture with tourism. These proposals aim to enhance the global competitiveness and influence of Vietnamese tea products.

Ms. Nguyen Thu Huong, Sunwah’s Representative in Guangzhou, exchanged views with ministry officials on durian export inspection systems, the application of green agricultural technologies, and the development of the medicinal herb industry, while exploring future cooperation opportunities in these sectors.
Representatives from MCC Construction Engineering Group, Lingnong (Shanghai) Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd., and Inspur Group shared their expertise and innovative solutions in water environment management, ecological protection, agricultural microbial technologies, and agricultural digital transformation. They also expressed strong interest in participating in Vietnam’s environmental protection initiatives, agricultural modernization programmes, and digital transformation efforts.

During the discussion session, both sides exchanged views on smart agriculture, agricultural digital transformation, technological innovation, water resource management, ecological conservation, green and low-carbon development, and agricultural value chain upgrading. Participating enterprises also proposed potential areas of cooperation, including technology transfer, project investment, talent development, commercialization of research outcomes, and market expansion.

Deputy Minister Vo Van Hung highly appreciated the achievements and cooperation aspirations of the Chinese enterprises. He also responded to the issues raised by the delegation regarding durian export inspection systems, green agricultural technologies, medicinal herb development, water environment management, ecological protection, and agricultural digitalization. He reaffirmed that the Ministry welcomes Chinese enterprises’ participation in Vietnam’s agricultural modernization and green transition, and expressed his hope for closer communication and the implementation of concrete cooperation projects in the future.
