Sunwah Advances Vietnam–China Trade, Investment and Technology Cooperation at CAEXPO 2026
(17/09/2026) On 17 September, during the 23rd China–ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO), the Viet Nam – China Trade, Investment and Technology Cooperation Forum was held at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center in Guangxi, China.
The event brought together approximately 300 representatives from government agencies, local authorities, trade and investment promotion organizations, business associations, industrial parks and enterprises from Vietnam and China. Distinguished guests included Mr. Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam; Dr. Jonathan Choi, Chairman of Sunwah Group and Chairman of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Alliance (GBAEA); Ms. Jiao Yahui, Member of the Leading Party Members Group of the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region; Mr. Le Trung Ho, Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Vu Ba Phu, Director General of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE); and Mr. Jesse Choi, Executive Vice Chairman of GBAEA and Chairman of GBAEA Vietnam Chapter.
In his remarks, Dr. Jonathan Choi highlighted the potential for stronger connectivity among Vietnam, Guangxi and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, combining Guangxi’s geographical and connectivity advantages, the Greater Bay Area’s capital, technology and industrial resources, and Vietnam’s market potential and development needs. He highlighted opportunities in artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, green energy, modern agriculture, cross-border logistics and the digital economy.
During the event, the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Alliance signed a Memorandum of Understanding on trade promotion cooperation, represented by Mr. Le Hoang Tai, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency, and Mr. Jesse Choi.
Sunwah Group and Guangxi Xianzhu Traditional Chinese Medicine Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Guangxi Liuzhou Pharmaceutical Group, also signed an MoU to promote cooperation in “AI + Pharmaceuticals”, traditional Chinese medicine and healthcare. The agreement was signed by Ms. Le Thi Thu Lua, Chief Representative of Sunwah Group Hanoi Office and General Director of Sunwah Hanoi Co., Ltd., and Mr. Cui Jie, Deputy General Manager of Guangxi Xianzhu Traditional Chinese Medicine Technology Co., Ltd.
The programme also featured investment promotion sessions, corporate presentations, a panel discussion on opportunities in Vietnam’s industrial parks and technology sector, and B2B business matching. The event further strengthened connectivity among Vietnam, Guangxi and the Greater Bay Area while creating new opportunities for Vietnam–China cooperation in trade, investment, technology and industrial development.
