Wenweipo – The Guangdong – Hong Kong – Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Union was established on 18^th December 2017 at Shenzhen city, Guangdong province, China. The Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, H.E. Leung Chun–ying attended the Ceremony as the Guest of Honor and awarded a plaque of appointment to Dr Jonathan Choi who will be Chairman of the Union. Dr Jonathan Choi is also Chairman of the Hong Kong Chinese General Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of Sunwah Group.

At the Launching Ceremony, H.E. Leung Chun–ying, in his speech, pointed out several achievements in Shenzhen during the last 30 years. This has proved the effectively cooperative relationship between Guangdong province and Hong Kong. The term “Guangdong – Hong Kong – Macao Bay Area” since establishment has gained attention from not only Chinese citizens but also worldwide. The Guangdong – Hong Kong – Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Union is expected to expand its business scope and attract the participation of more enterprises.

Dr Jonathan Choi shared that, the crucial elements for the development of the Guangdong – Hong Kong – Macao Bay Area are infrastructure, financial resources, human resources, commodities trading as well as technology and information exchanges among all parties. Another determining factor is that the local authorities in the bay area must have clear understanding on the development goals of the whole area and their own cities in order to plan appropriate strategies. Dr Jonathan Choi believed that, with the Central Government’s concrete guidance, the consensus of all members and the determination of all local authorities, the bay area will develop even further.

The members of the Presidium of Guangdong – Hong Kong – Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Union are entrepreneurs from the 9 cities of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao including the Chairman of Macao Chamber of Commerce Mr Ma You Li; the Chairman of Guangdong Federation of Industry and Commerce Mr Su Zhi Gang. Other members of the Union include entrepreneurs from famous corporations such as Tencent, Feng, Hua Da, Rou Yu and many more.

More than 200 well–known entrepreneurs from the cities including Guangzhou, Foshan, Zhaoqing, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Huizhou, Zhuhai, Zhongshan and Jiangmen of Guangdong province as well as from Hong Kong and Macao attended the Launching Ceremony
