Sunwah – Northeastern University Steel Research and Transfer Centre visited Vietnam

Sunwah – A delegation of senior officials and experts from the Sunwah – Northeastern University Steel Research and Transfer Centre visited Vietnam from 30th January to 4th February 2018. It signifies the Centre’s first step to develop the “Belt and Road” Initiative. The delegation was led by the Centre’s Director, Professor Wang Zhaodong and Mr Johnson Choi, Executive Director of Sunwah Group.
The delegation met with senior management of various Vietnamese steel corporations, Vietnam Steel Association and Hanoi University of Science and Technology. They shared the latest technological advances in steel production as well as built up platforms for future exchanges and collaborations.

The visit was highly received by the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam. Ambassador Hong Xiaoyong highly appreciated the effort of the Centre to promote the “Belt and Road” Initiative and promised to give full support to the Centre’s upcoming steel projects in Vietnam.
Sunwah Northeastern University Steel Research and Transfer Centre is a joint-venture between Sunwah Group and the Northeastern University, China. Professor Wang Guodong, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Science, is the Executive Director. Dr Jonathan Choi, Chairman of Sunwah Group, is also Chairman of the Centre. The Centre aims to provide and transfer comprehensive and advanced technologies in steel production to the countries along the economic corridor “Belt and Road”.
