Sunwah – On September 8, 2023, the China – Vietnam Business Forum with the theme “Explore the Vietnamese Market, Create Investment & Business Cooperation Opportunities Together” co-organized by Sunwah Vietnam and the Hangzhou Bajiuling Cultural and Creative Co., Ltd.  successfully took place in Hanoi. Mr. Jesse Choi, CEO of Sunwah ASEAN Region, General Director of Sunwah Vietnam; Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Foreign Investment Agency, Ministry of Planning and Investment; Mr. To Ngoc Son, Deputy Director of Asia – Africa Market Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade; Mr. Gu Chaoqing, Chairman of the Chinese Business Association in Vietnam; Mr. Wu Xiaobo, Financial Writer, founder of 890 Business Academy; officicated and delivered their speeches at the event. Also attending the Forum were Ms. Do Thi Huong, Deputy Head of the Industrial Zones Management Board of Nam Dinh Province; Mr. Nguyen Cong Thang, Deputy Head of the Industrial Zones Management Board of Vinh Phuc province, and nearly 120 representatives of large businesses in many different sectors of China and Vietnam. The Chinese Business Association in Vietnam and the Hong Kong Business Association in Vietnam are the Supporting Organizations for this Forum.

At the event, Mr. Jesse Choi introduced an the development and operations of Sunwah Group in Vietnam over the past 50 years. He shared that, in recent years, Vietnam has been considered one of the most attractive emerging markets in Asia with strong advantages in many industries such as manufacturing, processing, logistics, commerce, etc. The Vietnamese Government is also constantly reforming policies and procedures, increasing investment incentives, and opening the market to encourage and attract foreign investors. At the same time, compared to other developing countries in the region, Vietnam has also been and will continue to invest in education and training. This is one of Vietnam’s competitive advantages. In addition, cultural similarity also creates favorable conditions for the development of cooperation between Vietnam and many Chinese provinces and cities in different fields such as trade, investment, or tourism. He also affirmed that with more than half a century operating bussiness in Vietnam as well as an extensive network in the country, Sunwah is confident in being able to act as a “Super Connector” to support exchanges between China and Vietnam businesses.

Representing the organizer of the Forum, Mr. Wu Xiaobo in his welcome speech shared that in recent years, investment by Chinese businesses in Vietnam has been increasing, both in quantity and quality. China is still one of Vietnam’s largest trading partners, Vietnam is also China’s largest partner in the Southeast Asia region. He hopes that this visit of the Chinese business delegation to Vietnam will contribute to promoting investment of Chinese businesses in the country, as well as opening up opportunities for more joint cooperation in the future. He also expressed his sincere thanks to Mr. Jesse Choi for Sunwah Vietnam’s significant contribution to the success of this event and hoped that the two sides would continue to implement many new cooperative projects.

Also within the framework of the Forum, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Foreign Investment Agency, Ministry of Planning and Investment; Mr. To Ngoc Son, Deputy Director of Asia – Africa Market Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade; Mr. Gu Chaoqing, Chairman of the Chinese Business Association in Vietnam, also gave keynoted speeches on “Vietnam’s Investment Attraction Policies”, ” Trade Cooperation Relations between Vietnam – China and its potential”, and “Sharing investment and business experiences in doing business in Vietnam”. The roundtable discussion session with the theme “Exploring Vietnam, creating business opportunities” also attracted lively discussion from guest speakers, including: Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan; Mr. Zhang Shaoqiang, Vice President of Guangdong Business Federation, Chinese Business Association in Vietnam; Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Huong, Committee Member of the Vietnamese Youth Business Association, Chairwoman of the High-Tech Agriculture Club, Chairwoman of Viet Phuc Production and Import-Export Joint Stock Company; Mr. Ling Yusong, General Director, Trina Solar Vietnam Co., Ltd.; and Mr. Shan Dinglong, Deputy General Director, China Habor Construction Co., Ltd. Speakers and guests attending the round table discussion also shared opinions and suggestions around the development potential of the Vietnamese market, and how Chinese businesses can seek opportunities to do business and investment in Vietnam.

The Business Forum is an event in a series of activities by a Chinese business delegation of 60 people led by Mr. Wu Xiaobo to visit Vietnam from September 6 to 9, 2023. With the support of Sunwah Vietnam, the delegation also visited many large industrial parks and manufacturers in northern Vietnam to learn more about the business environment and opportunities in the country.
