Dr Jonathan Choi and the Hong Kong – Shanghai delegation visited Indonesia to enhance business cooperation

HKCNA – The investment delegation of nearly 50 entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and Shanghai led by Dr Jonathan Choi, Chairman of Sunwah Group and Chairman of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce (CGCC), visited the Philippines and Indonesia from 22nd to 26th April 2018. On the occasion of Mrs Carrie Lam’s, Chief Executive of Hong Kong, visit to Indonesia, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), CGCC and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry jointly organised the “Indonesia – Hong Kong Strategic Partnership on the Belt and Road Initiative” Seminar and Luncheon on 25th April to enhance Hong Kong’s international image and promote the “One Belt, One Road” initiative.

Previously, from 22nd to 24th April, during the visit to Manila, the Philippines, the delegation met with various Filipino enterprises and government agencies including the Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of Construction to study about investment policies and promote joint projects between Hong Kong – Shanghai and the Philippines.
On 25th April, the “Indonesia – Hong Kong Strategic Partnership on the Belt and Road Initiative” Seminar and Luncheon was organised in Jakarta, Indonesia and received the participation of Mrs Carrie Lam, Dr Jonathan Choi, Mr Vincent Lo – Chairman of HKTDC, Mr Thomas Lembong – Minister of Trade, Mr Kaidan Chajrul Tanjung – Chairman of CT Group, and more than 100 Indonesian entrepreneurs and investors. cam bien nhiet do pt100

After the Seminar, Dr Jonathan Choi met with Mr Xiao Qian, Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia, and visited the Indonesian Chinese General Chamber of Commerce. Mr Qian informed Dr Choi of the positive economic and trade development between China and Indonesia in recent years. Dr Choi also shared that Hong Kong, as Asia’s financial and commercial center, has established strategic partnership with Indonesia for many years. He believed that along with the government’s active promotion of the “Belt and Road” initiative, more Chinese entrepreneurs will come to Indonesia to seek business opportunities in the near future.
