Sunwah – On 13^th March 2019, the Liaoning – Cambodia Economic and Trade Exchange Promotion Event took place in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Cambodian business leaders had the honor to welcome a business delegation from Liaoning Province, China, comprised of business executives and government officials to discuss agricultural business opportunities, and to meet potential Cambodian business partners.

Among the attendees included Mr Wang Wen Tian, Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia; Mr Song Yanlin, Liaoning Provincial Director of Commerce; Dr Jonathan Choi, Chairman of Sunwah Group; Mr Johnson Choi, Executive Director of Sunwah Group; and business executives in Liaoning and Cambodia.

The Liaoning Provincial Department of Commerce and the Hong Kong-based Sunwah Group jointly hosted this promotional event to capitalize on opportunities aimed to revitalize the old industrial base in Northeast China, as well as a favorable economic environment, which is presenting new opportunities for cooperation and mutual development with new partners.  This event is an important initiative led by Jonathan Choi, Chairman of Sunwah Group, to use the Group’s resources in Southeast Asia to assist participating Belt and Road Initiative countries to cooperate with Liaoning Province in mutually beneficial ways.  The success of this event will enable commercial enterprises in both geographies to develop more understanding of each other, and of supply, demand and capacity of each party, with the ultimate goal of developing new business partnerships.

In his speech at the event, Dr Jonathan Choi noted, “Cambodian agriculture businesses are well-positioned to establish strong business alliances with partners in Liaoning Province, and the economies of both Cambodia and Liaoning are poised for further growth given strong and expanding investment in agriculture, as well as other sectors.”
