Sunwah – On 18 September 2022, Mr Jesse Choi, General Director of Sunwah Group Southeast Asia, and Mr Gilbert Tsui, Director of Sunwah Cambodia, welcomed Mr Algernon Yau Ying-wah, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the delegation led by him to visit Sunwah Group headquarters in Cambodia.

During the meeting, Mr Jesse Choi introduced Sunwah Group’s business investment projects and social services projects in Cambodia and Vietnam. Recently, in Cambodia, Sunwah Group kicked off the Sunwah Pearl real estate project in Phnom Penh with a total investment of 1.3 billion USD. Sunwah is currently actively promoting cooperations between Vietnam, Cambodia and the Guangdong – Hong Kong – Macao Greater Bay Area. Notably, Sunwah and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange are working to support succesful Vietnamese enterprises to be listed in Hong Kong stock market. In addition, Sunwah Vietnam recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to promote education, exchange of talents as well as support the transfer of scientific research.

Secretary Algernon Yau highly appreciated Sunwah’s contributions over the years and hoped that through Sunwah’s activities in ASEAN, it would be possible to further promote cooperation between ASEAN and Hong Kong which in turn can benefit all parties.

On the same day, Mr Jesse Choi, General Director of Sunwah Group Southeast Asia and Chairman of the China Hong Kong & Macau Entrepreneurs Association in Cambodia, attended the luncheon to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to China. It is co-organized by the Hong Kong Economic Chamber of Commerce and the China Hong Kong & Macau Entrepreneurs Association in Cambodia. The Luncheon was attended by nearly 400 guests, including Mr Eisenwah, Chairman of the Cambodia – China Friendship Association; Mr Wang Wentian, Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia; Mr Algernon Yau Ying-wah, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of Hong Kong; and representatives of Cambodian government officials, etc.
