On the morning of 25 July 2023, Mr. Jesse Choi, General Director of Sunwah Group in Southeast Asia and Director of Sunwah Vietnam; Ms. Le Thu Lua, Chief Representative of Sunwah Group in Hanoi; and the delegation from Sunwah Gelafood Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd. (Henan province, China) visited the Trade Promotion Center for Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam. Both parties had an in-depth discussion with the leaders of the Center and over 50 Vietnamese agricultural suppliers to establish a Vietnamese Agricultural Product Pavilion. The purpose of this initiative is to promote the export of Vietnamese agricultural products to the Chinese market through various e-commerce platforms.

During the meeting, Mr. Jesse Choi introduced the business areas of Sunwah Group and its business activities in Vietnam over the past 50 years. He mentioned that with over 60 years of development experience in China and an extensive political and business network, Sunwah Group, with the approval of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam, will work closely with the Trade Promotion Center for Agriculture to develop the Vietnamese Agricultural Product Pavilion. Through leading e-commerce platforms in China, the Pavilion aims to provide information about Vietnam’s market, country, people, culture, as well as promote the famous agricultural products from different regions of Vietnam, enhance the brand of Vietnamese goods, and expand the scale, quantity, and variety of exported goods. He also emphasized that Sunwah Group is fully committed to promoting China-Vietnam agricultural cooperation to achieve greater heights and contribute to the economic development and prosperity of both China and Vietnam.

Afterward, Ms. Qi Ping, the General Director of Sunwah Gelafood Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd. (Henan), introduced the Vietnamese Agricultural Product Pavilion, the input standards, and procedures for suppliers, and received positive feedback from the participating companies. Mr. Nguyen Minh Tien, the Director of the Trade Promotion Center for Agriculture, also affirmed that this new business model will be an important channel for Vietnamese agricultural products to be exported to the Chinese market.

In the afternoon of the same day, the delegation visited Viettel Post Joint Stock Corporation (Viettel Post) under the Viettel Military Industry – Telecommunications Group. Viettel Group is the largest telecommunication and mobile operator in Vietnam, specializing in domestic and international express delivery services, logistics, order management, e-commerce, and other fields. Mr. Hoang Trung Thanh, the General Director of Viettel Post, and the company’s department heads warmly welcomed the delegation. The two sides discussed the Vietnamese Agricultural Product Pavilion, and Mr. Hoang Trung Thanh expressed his commitment to promoting cooperation with Sunwah Group and participating in building the Vietnamese Agricultural Product Pavilion to facilitate the smooth export of agricultural products to the Chinese market through various trade platforms.
