Sunwah Group Chairman Dr. Jonathan Choi Leads Chinese Business Delegation To Visit Hanoi People’s Committee

Sunwah – On the morning of May 28, 2026, Dr. Jonathan Choi, Chairman of Sunwah Group, led a Chinese business delegation comprising companies from sectors such as artificial intelligence (AI), high technology, healthcare, biotechnology, new energy, and smart logistics on a visit to the Hanoi People’s Committee. The delegation held a working meeting with Mr. Duong Duc Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, to discuss cooperation opportunities in innovation, talent development, healthcare, green transportation, smart city development, and international investment.

During the meeting, Vice Chairman Duong Duc Tuan welcomed Dr. Jonathan Choi and the Chinese business delegation, and introduced Hanoi’s recent socio-economic development achievements and future strategic priorities. He emphasized that Hanoi is actively promoting innovation, digital transformation, and green development, while prioritizing investment in high-tech industries, clean technologies, and innovation-driven sectors. The city looks forward to strengthening cooperation with Sunwah Group and the Chinese business community to facilitate high-quality investment projects and contribute to Hanoi’s sustainable growth.

The Hanoi leadership also highlighted new opportunities arising from the implementation of the Capital Law. As Vietnam’s capital city, Hanoi now enjoys nearly 200 special policy mechanisms and authorities, providing greater autonomy in institutional organization, fiscal management, investment approval, urban governance, and innovation development. In particular, sectors such as high technology, smart cities, the digital economy, green transportation, and innovation pilot projects benefit from a more flexible policy environment and more efficient decision-making mechanisms, creating favourable conditions for both domestic and international investors.

Dr. Jonathan Choi expressed his appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the Hanoi People’s Committee and shared Sunwah Group’s 56-year development journey in Vietnam. He reaffirmed Sunwah’s commitment to serving as a bridge between Vietnam and China by facilitating cooperation between Hanoi and high-quality Chinese enterprises, thereby supporting innovation, industrial upgrading, and international resource connectivity.

During the business exchange session, Sunwah Group introduced its initiatives in vocational education, international talent development, and industry-academia collaboration. The Group expressed its willingness to further promote high-skilled workforce development, international vocational education cooperation, and youth exchange programmes to support Hanoi’s future industrial growth.

During the session, representatives of Sunwah Locobike presented shared electric mobility and green transportation solutions, expressing interest in exploring pilot smart transportation projects in Hanoi. MCC Construction Engineering Group shared its expertise in urban infrastructure construction, water environment management, and ecological protection, with a view to participating in Hanoi’s infrastructure and environmental development projects. Jinhua Pharmaceutical Group introduced its portfolio of traditional Chinese medicine, innovative pharmaceuticals, and healthcare products, while expressing its desire to promote healthcare and pharmaceutical cooperation between Vietnam and China.

Participating enterprises also exchanged views on potential collaboration in artificial intelligence, digital healthcare, biotechnology, new energy, and smart logistics, and expressed strong interest in advancing practical cooperation projects in the future.

Vice Chairman Duong Duc Tuan reaffirmed Hanoi’s commitment to international cooperation and attracting global innovation resources. He welcomed Sunwah Group and Chinese enterprises to actively participate in Hanoi’s high-tech development, green transition, and international investment initiatives, while proposing the establishment of a regular communication mechanism to facilitate the implementation of specific cooperation projects.
