Sunwah Group cooperating with China State Construction Engineering Corporation to develop the Guangdong – Hong Kong – Macau Strategic Planning and Development Research Center

Xinhua News – On 12th November 2017, in Quangzhou, China, Sunwah Group and China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) held the Strategic Partnership Agreement Signing Ceremony as well as established the Guangdong – Hong Kong – Macau Strategic Planning and Development Research Center. Sunwah Group and CSCEC aim to utilise each party’s strengths and promote long-term cooperation for mutual development in order to develop the bay area Guangdong – Hong Kong – Macau into a focal economic zone in China.
Mr Zhang Xiao Feng, General Director of Sunwah Construction and Investment Bay Area Co. Ltd. and Mr Song Xiao Long, Member of the Communist Party of China and General Director of Design of CSCEC, signed the Strategic Partnership Agreement.
Ms Fang Ling, General Director of Sunwah Group in South China region; Mr Zhang Xue Qing, Deputy Director of Sunwah Construction and Investment Bay Area Co. Ltd.; Mr Bai Ying, Vice Chairman of CSCEC and Mr Min Zhan Hua, Director of the Guangdong – Hong Kong – Macau Strategic Planning and Development Research Center were the witnesses of the Strategic Partnership Agreement Signing Ceremony.

In this cooperative partnership, both CSCEC and Sunwah will combine each party’s strengths, in which CSCEC is experienced in infrastructure planning and development and Sunwah has strong financial and technological resources, to jointly develop the Research Center into one of the leading research centers in China. The Research Center will offer consultant services relating to regional policies as well as researching and developing economic strategies and smart city models.
Notably, at the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week organised in Danang, Vietnam, from 6th to 11th November 2017, Chairman of Sunwah Group, Dr Jonathan Choi, had an official meeting with Chairman of CSCEC, Mr Guan Qing. Dr Jonathan Choi and Mr Guan Qing emphasized that the establishment of the Guangdong – Hong Kong – Macau Strategic Planning and Development Research Center will mark the turning point of the strategic partnership between Sunwah and CSCEC moving to a new promising chapter.

The Research Center will coordinate with prestigious institutes including the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Hong Kong Academy of Science, China Academy of Urban Planning and Design, Tsinghua University and Jinan University to develop and provide support to highly intensive and practical researches in the fields of infrastructures construction, urban planning, finance – economic, information technology and many more.
