Sunwah – On 7 September, Dr Jonathan Choi, Chairman of Sunwah Group; Mr Jesse Choi, Director of Sunwah Group in Southeast Asia; Ms Katie Nguyen, Representative of Sunwah Group in Ho Chi Minh City; and Ms Janice Le, Representative of Sunwah Group in Hanoi; had a meeting with Mr Furusawa Yasuyuki, General Director, and Mr Tanaka Kosei, Back Office Executive Director of Aeon Vietnam. The meeting was set on the follow-up of the conversation between Dr Choi and Mr Isao Sugarawa, Managing Director of AEON Stores (Hong Kong), during the dinner hosted by Dr Choi on 25 August in Hong Kong, to further the collaboration between the two Groups in Vietnam.

AEON Vietnam is operating 6 malls in Hanoi (2), Hai Phong (1), Binh Duong (1) and Ho Chi Minh City (2) and recently launched the small and medium supermarket model AEON MaxValu with 7 units in the north of Vietnam. This is the medium and long-term strategy of AEON Vietnam when AEON Group identifies Vietnam as the second most important market after Japan. Accordingly, AEON Vietnam’s priorities are the e-commerce chain system expansion and product development, which Dr Choi believe Sunwah Group with our extensive businesses in Vietnam and China can support in many ways. Mr Furusawa would like to visit the headquarters of Sunwah Group in Vietnam to learn more about our businesses and further discuss the partnership between two Groups.
