Sunwah Group is the Strategic Partner of “Collaboration Days” Event, during the Summer Davos 2026

Sunwah – From 23 to 25 June 2026, Mr. Jesse Choi, Regional Director of Sunwah Group ASEAN, CEO of Sunwah Innovations, and Chairman of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area Entrepreneurs Alliance in Vietnam, led a Sunwah delegation to participate in the Collaboration Days series of events in Dalian, Liaoning Province, China. As one of the strategic partners of the event, Sunwah took part in a wide range of forums and thematic discussions, while also showcasing the Group’s businesses and achievements through its exhibition booth.

The Collaboration Days programme was held alongside the 2026 Summer Davos, officially known as the 17th Annual Meeting of the New Champions of the World Economic Forum. The event was directed by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee and hosted by the Ho Chi Minh City Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (HCMC C4IR), with the support of various central government agencies. Building on the momentum of the Summer Davos events in Dalian in 2024 and Tianjin in 2025, the programme aimed to strengthen international collaboration while promoting science, technology and innovation, industrial upgrading, and cross-border cooperation.

The event welcomed the participation of Mr. Pham Thanh Binh, Ambassador of Vietnam to China; Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha, Standing Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee; Mr. Le Truong Duy, Director of HCMC C4IR; Mr. Luan Jianzhang, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Tianjin Municipal People’s Government; Mr. Wang Nianbao, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Anhui Provincial People’s Government; together with government officials, experts, academics and business representatives from Vietnam, China, South Korea, South Africa and other countries.

On the afternoon of 23 June, the thematic roundtable “Promoting R&D Activities and Commercialisation of Research Outcomes in Strategic Technology Sectors”, co-organised by HCMC C4IR and Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), was successfully held.

During the discussion, Mr. Le Truong Duy highlighted the Government’s role in connecting key stakeholders within the innovation ecosystem. Mr. Tran Vu, Deputy Director of the VNU-HCM Innovation Centre, shared the university’s experience and vision in promoting innovation through the “Government – University – Enterprise” collaboration model.

Representing Sunwah Group, Ms. Huynh Khanh Linh, Deputy Director of Partnership Development, Sunwah HCMC,  joined the panel discussion on “The Role of Innovation Ecosystems and Capital in Accelerating the Commercialisation of Strategic Technologies.” She shared Sunwah’s experience in commercialising research outcomes, mobilising cross-border innovation resources, and building innovation ecosystems through collaborative projects with both co-organising institutions. The discussion also featured representatives from Dalian University of Technology, Tianjiu Group, FPT Corporation, Becamex IDC and Dalian Jiaotong University.

On the afternoon of 24 June, Mr. Jesse Choi and the Sunwah delegation attended the Ho Chi Minh City Investment Cooperation Forum 2026. In his opening remarks, Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh highlighted the long-standing strategic partnership and economic cooperation between Vietnam and China, noting that the financial ecosystem will become a key driver for Ho Chi Minh City’s future development. Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha reaffirmed Ho Chi Minh City’s commitment to developing an innovation-driven economy, accelerating digital and green transformation, and advancing the establishment of the Vietnam International Financial Centre in Ho Chi Minh City. Ms. Cao Thi Phi Van, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC), introduced the city’s competitive advantages and shared its strategic priorities in artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, fintech and smart logistics.

During the keynote session, Mr. Jesse Choi delivered a keynote speech titled  “A Business Perspective on Promoting Vietnam–China Investment Cooperation and Innovation.” He noted that as Vietnam–China cooperation enters a new phase, innovation, entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence and sustainable development are becoming important drivers of future growth. He reaffirmed Sunwah’s commitment to strengthening cross-border innovation networks, enhancing collaboration among universities, research institutions and enterprises, and promoting cross-border investment to create practical cooperation opportunities between Vietnam—particularly Ho Chi Minh City—and Chinese provinces in strategic sectors.

At the panel discussion on “Innovation and High-Quality Investment: Drivers of Sustainable Growth,” Ms. Ho Thanh Thuy, Director of External Affairs and Head of Innovation at Sunwah Vietnam, shared Sunwah’s practical experience and perspectives on fostering innovation-driven investment and collaboration.

During the Vietnam–China Cooperation Project Announcement Ceremony, Sunwah celebrated three important milestones. First, Sunwah and HCMC C4IR officially announced the pilot deployment of a public electric bicycle sharing system in Ho Chi Minh City, aiming to improve first-mile and last-mile urban connectivity. Second, Sunwah Group, Inspur Group and Exabyte signed a Memorandum of Understanding on strategic cooperation to jointly research, develop, localise and promote smart agriculture, smart aquaculture and product traceability solutions. Third, Sunwah submitted a Letter of Intent to HCMC C4IR to promote the pilot application and practical deployment of artificial intelligence and related technologies in Ho Chi Minh City.

That evening, the Sunwah delegation attended the official welcome reception, where they connected with government officials, experts and international business leaders. During the event, Mr. Jesse Choi met with Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh to discuss several of Sunwah’s strategic projects in Vietnam.

On the morning of 25 June, the roundtable “Connecting High-Tech Agriculture Ecosystems and Cross-Border Value Chains”, jointly organised by HCMC C4IR, Israel C4IR, the Israel Innovation Authority and Sunwah Group, concluded successfully. In his remarks, Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh emphasised the enormous potential for Vietnam–China cooperation in agricultural digital transformation, technological innovation and global value chains. Mr. Lior Yafe, Director of the International Collaboration Division of the Israel Innovation Authority, shared Israel’s successful experience in developing advanced AgTech and FoodTech ecosystems, supporting research, development and commercialisation of innovative technologies. Representing Sunwah Group, Ms. Song Na, Chief Representative of Sunwah Northeast China and Executive Secretary-General of the Bohai Rim Entrepreneurs Alliance, reaffirmed Sunwah’s commitment to leveraging its more than 50 years of experience in Vietnam to promote high-tech agriculture and cross-border value chain cooperation.

During the discussion, Ms. Celia Chen, Director of the Sunwah – Chinese Enterprises Go Global Center (Ho Chi Minh City), shared insights into market trends, consumer demand and international standards for Vietnamese agricultural products, providing valuable reference for participating enterprises. Sunwah also invited senior executives from Liaoyu Fisheries Group (Liaoning) and Lingnong (Shanghai) Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. to join the panel discussion. Later that day, the delegation attended the working luncheon themed “Connecting Global Value Chains in the New Industrial Era” to continue discussions with participating organisations.

Throughout the three-day event, Sunwah’s exhibition booth attracted a large number of visitors, providing an excellent platform to showcase the Group’s diversified businesses and innovation initiatives. On the morning of 25 June, Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh, Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha and the Vietnamese government delegation visited the Sunwah booth, where they highly appreciated the Group’s longstanding contributions to strengthening economic, trade and innovation cooperation between Vietnam and China.
