Sunwah Group supports educational infrastructure development in Lao Cai Province

Sunwah – On 20 September 2024, at the office of Vietnamese Fatherland Front in Lao Cai province, Ms Le Thu Lua, Chief Representative of Sunwah Group in Hanoi, presented a donation of VND 250 million VND to Lao Cai Province. This donation will be used to build or restore educational infrastructure in areas heavily affected by natural disasters, aiming to mitigate the consequences and improve the local educational infrastructure.
Mr. Ly Van Hai, Chairman of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front in Lao Cai province, and Mr. Pham Thanh Quang, Director of the Lao Cai Province’s Foreign Affairs Department, received the donation on behalf of the provincial government and people. At the Donation Ceremony, Mr. Ly Van Hai expressed gratitude to Sunwah Group, particularly Dr. Jonathan Choi, Chairman of the Group, for his concern and generosity towards the local community during the post-typhoon relief efforts.

With a long-standing friendship and cooperation with Vietnam, Sunwah Group is not only an important economic partner but also actively participates in charitable and community development activities. In particular, in light of the difficulties faced by Lao Cai Province due to the recent typhoon and flooding, Sunwah Group seeks to contribute to rebuilding educational facilities to ensure a safe and quality learning environment for students. This donation reflects Sunwah’s commitment to supporting Vietnam, particularly Lao Cai Province, in recovering from the damage caused by the natural disasters. This support will help the local community quickly overcome difficulties and contribute to building a solid educational infrastructure, laying the foundation for future generations.

Sunwah Group has also paid special attention to expanding investment and economic cooperation in Lao Cai Province in recent years. Earlier this year, Sunwah signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Lao Cai Province’s Department of Commerce to develop a smart logistics platform, export-import activities, investment attraction, and many more. Accordingly, Sunwah has organized several delegations consisting of enterprises from various provinces in China to Lao Cai to explore investment opportunities and develop local infrastructure. The exchanges between Sunwah representatives and Lao Cai leaders have promised to bring about many opportunities for cooperation in investment and logistics, contributing to the province’s economic and social development.

In addition to the donation, Sunwah has implemented numerous support activities for Vietnam, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. In August 2021, Sunwah Group donated medical supplies worth over USD 200,000, including masks, testing kits, and medical protective equipment, to northern provinces of Vietnam, including Lao Cai, to help the local communities respond to the pandemic. Previously, in 2020, to contribute to Vietnam’s efforts to combat the pandemic, Sunwah Group also donated VND 5 billion to the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Fund and 60,000 masks and medical supplies to various ministries and universities in Vietnam. These contributions have played a crucial role in controlling the disease and consolidating the friendship between Vietnam and China, while demonstrating Sunwah’s strong commitment to supporting the community and fostering friendship between Vietnam and Hong Kong.
