Sunwah Group Chairman Dr. Jonathan Choi Leads Chinese Healthcare Delegation In Meeting With Vietnam’s Ministry Of Health

Sunwah – On the afternoon of May 25, 2026, Dr. Jonathan Choi, Chairman of Sunwah Group, led a delegation of Chinese healthcare-related enterprises to visit the Ministry of Health of Vietnam, where they held a working meeting with Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tri Thuc, Deputy Minister of Health. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on key areas including modern medicine, biotechnology, digital healthcare, traditional medicine cooperation, and healthcare innovation.
Representatives from the Ministry of Health of Vietnam attending the meeting included leaders from the Drug Administration of Vietnam, the Department of Science, Technology and Training, the Administration of Traditional Medicine, the Medical Services Administration, the Department of International Cooperation, Vietnam Pharmaceutical Corporation, and other relevant agencies.

At the outset of the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Tri Thuc warmly welcomed Dr. Jonathan Choi and the Chinese business delegation to the Ministry of Health. He also highly commended Sunwah Group’s long-standing role in promoting economic, cultural, and healthcare cooperation between Vietnam and China.

The Deputy Minister noted that in recent years, the Ministry of Health has actively implemented the Party and Government’s policies on innovation and healthcare modernization, while promoting technological advancement and digital transformation across the healthcare sector. In particular, as part of the implementation of Politburo Resolutions No. 72 and No. 57, Vietnam is accelerating the development of modern medicine, traditional medicine, and digital healthcare systems.
He emphasized that this exchange would create new opportunities for cooperation between Vietnam and China in modern medicine, traditional medicine, healthcare innovation, and digital transformation, while helping to establish a more practical and long-term cooperation mechanism.
Dr. Jonathan Choi expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Health and its affiliated departments for their warm reception, and briefly introduced the composition of the delegation.

He noted that among the approximately 80 entrepreneurs in the delegation, nearly 30 enterprises operate in sectors such as innovation technology, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, advanced healthcare, and medical technology, reflecting strong interest among Chinese enterprises in Vietnam’s healthcare industry.
Dr. Choi stated that through this visit, Sunwah Group aims to support the Ministry of Health in connecting with high-quality partners from Mainland China, Hong Kong, and international markets, with a view to developing practical and sustainable healthcare cooperation projects tailored to Vietnam’s needs.

He further expressed the willingness of Sunwah Group and the participating Chinese enterprises to pursue substantive cooperation in priority areas such as modern medicine and biomedical technologies, healthcare digital transformation, smart healthcare solutions, traditional medicine and Chinese medicine standardization and application, as well as the development of a sustainable healthcare ecosystem through long-term partnership mechanisms.
During the discussion session, representatives from Vietnam and China introduced their respective strengths and explored potential cooperation opportunities in healthcare technology, AI-assisted diagnosis and treatment, biopharmaceuticals, smart hospital development, and traditional medicine industries.

In his concluding remarks, Deputy Minister Nguyen Tri Thuc stated that the meeting was highly significant in implementing the consensus reached by the senior leaders of both countries and laid a solid foundation for deeper and more practical cooperation in modern medicine, traditional medicine, healthcare digitalization, and technological innovation.
