Sunwah Group Advances Vietnam–China Healthcare Cooperation Through Meeting With The Vietnam Military-Civilian Medical Association

Sunwah – On the morning of May 27, 2026, Dr. Jonathan Choi, Chairman of Sunwah Group, led a delegation of nearly 30 Chinese healthcare and wellness enterprises on a visit to the Vietnam Military-Civilian Medical Association, where they held a meeting with the Association’s leadership. The delegation was warmly received by Associate Professor Pham Le Tuan, President of the Association. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on four key areas: the modernization of traditional medicine, healthcare digital transformation, advanced biomedical technology cooperation, and strategic industry platform connectivity.

In his welcoming remarks, Associate Professor Pham Le Tuan expressed his appreciation for the visit by Sunwah Group and the Chinese business delegation. He introduced the Vietnam Military – Civilian Medical Association as a prestigious healthcare organization operating under the Ministry of Health of Vietnam and serving as an important platform for international healthcare cooperation. He noted that Major General Nguyen Hong Son, Vice President of the Association, had previously held several productive exchanges with Sunwah Group in Ho Chi Minh City, laying a solid foundation of mutual trust and understanding. He also shared that the Association plans to organize a delegation to China in June and expressed his hope that Sunwah Group would continue to support bilateral exchanges and cooperation.
Dr. Jonathan Choi thanked the Association for its warm reception and support. He noted that Vietnam’s rapid socio-economic development has led to increasing healthcare demand, creating significant opportunities for the healthcare and wellness industry. China has achieved considerable progress in traditional medicine innovation, digital healthcare, stem cell research, and regenerative medicine. Given the complementary strengths of both countries, there is substantial potential for deeper healthcare cooperation. Dr. Choi reaffirmed Sunwah Group’s commitment to leveraging its cross-border resources and industrial networks to facilitate regular exchanges and practical cooperation projects between Chinese and Vietnamese healthcare institutions and enterprises.

Guided by the principle of practical and results-oriented cooperation, both sides identified four priority areas for future collaboration. First, they agreed to promote the modernization and standardization of traditional medicine, while establishing joint platforms for talent development and scientific research. Second, they explored the expansion of cooperation in advanced biomedical technologies, including diagnostic screening, molecular biology, and cell therapy. Third, both sides discussed ways to support Vietnam’s healthcare digital transformation through the adoption of electronic medical records, AI-assisted diagnosis, and smart hospital solutions. Fourth, they agreed to strengthen institutional connectivity by introducing high-quality healthcare technologies and products to Vietnam, and by facilitating training programmes, technology transfer initiatives, and pilot projects within the Association’s network.

During the business presentation session, leading Chinese enterprises in biopharmaceuticals, traditional medicine, and medical devices, including Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Group, Jinhua Group, Hanchen Group, and Jiangsu Puxin Biotech, showcased their core technologies, flagship products, and potential cooperation plans for the Vietnamese market. Jiangsu Puxin Biotech, in particular, highlighted its achievements in advanced cell therapy and biopharmaceutical research, and discussed possible pathways for introducing innovative medical technologies in compliance with Vietnam’s regulatory framework.
In addition, Sunwah Vietnam presented high-quality Panax notoginseng resources from Miaoxiang, standardized cultivation systems, and modern R&D achievements, with the aim of supporting the expansion and internationalization of traditional medicine brands in Vietnam.
