Chinese Business Delegation Led by Dr. Jonathan Choi Holds Official Meeting with Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology

Sunwah- On the afternoon of May 25, 2026, Mr. Vũ Hải Quân, Minister of Science and Technology of Vietnam, received and held a meeting in Hanoi with a high-level Chinese business delegation led by Dr. Jonathan Choi, Chairman of Sunwah Group.

At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Vu Hai Quan highly commended Dr. Jonathan Choi for his long-standing contributions to promoting economic, trade, scientific, technological, and educational cooperation between Vietnam and China. The Minister noted that the two sides have maintained close collaboration and exchanges for more than a decade.

During the meeting, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on innovation policies, cooperation in strategic and frontier technologies, the development of innovation and startup ecosystems, high-quality talent cultivation, as well as cultural and people-to-people exchanges. Minister Vu Hai Quan emphasized that the meeting would contribute to implementing the important consensus reached by the senior leaders of the two countries and further promote practical cooperation in innovation, high technology, and industrial development.

The Minister also highlighted that the Vietnamese Government attaches great importance to science, technology, innovation, and high-tech industries. Going forward, Vietnam will continue to improve its policy framework and regulatory environment to facilitate international technology companies in investing, conducting research and development, and establishing operations in the country. At the same time, the Government will further strengthen investment in infrastructure and high-quality human resource development to support sustainable business growth.

Dr. Jonathan Choi expressed his appreciation for Vietnam’s remarkable achievements in science, technology, innovation, and startup ecosystem development in recent years. He also thanked the Ministry of Science and Technology for its warm hospitality and constructive exchanges. Reaffirming Sunwah Group’s long-term commitment to Vietnam, Dr. Choi stated that the Group would continue to leverage its international network and cross-regional industrial resources to strengthen cooperation between Chinese high-tech enterprises and Vietnamese government agencies, universities, research institutions, and local businesses, thereby bringing bilateral innovation cooperation to a new level.

During the discussion session, delegation members introduced their business activities and future development plans in Vietnam. Many companies showed strong interest in expanding cooperation in areas such as smart mobility, scientific research and technology investment, 5G telecommunications, the digital economy, and other emerging technology sectors. They also expressed their willingness to actively participate in Vietnam’s innovation ecosystem and contribute to deeper cooperation between the two countries in technology, industry, and talent development.
