Sunwah Group Chairman Dr. Jonathan Choi Leads A Chinese Business Delegation In A Working Visit To Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade

Sunwah – On the morning of May 25, 2026, Dr. Jonathan Choi, Chairman of Sunwah Group, led a delegation of nearly 80 Chinese business representatives to visit the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) of Vietnam. The delegation held a working session with Ms. Phan Thi Thang, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, to discuss ways to deepen Vietnam – China economic, trade, and investment cooperation, as well as promote coordinated industrial and supply chain development.

Representatives from various departments under the Ministry attended the meeting, including the Department of Foreign Market Development, the Multilateral Trade Policy Department, the Agency of Foreign Trade, the Industry Agency, the Trade Promotion Agency, and other relevant units. Representatives from several key industrial parks and major Vietnamese enterprises were also invited to join the discussion.
At the beginning of the meeting, Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang warmly welcomed Dr. Jonathan Choi and the Chinese business delegation to Vietnam. She also highly appreciated the significant contributions made by Dr. Choi and Sunwah Group in promoting economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Vietnam and China, particularly between Hong Kong and Vietnam.

Dr. Jonathan Choi noted that in recent years, Sunwah Group has worked closely with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam to organize numerous trade and investment promotion events in major economic regions across China, including the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Shanghai, Chongqing, Shandong, and Nanning. These initiatives have provided practical cooperation platforms for enterprises from both countries.
He further emphasized that Sunwah Group will continue to serve as a bridge between Vietnam and China, facilitating business cooperation and industrial matchmaking, particularly in high-potential regions such as Yunnan, Guangxi, Hainan, and Zhejiang.

Moderated by Dr. Choi, representatives from several Chinese enterprises introduced their technological strengths and cooperation interests in areas such as smart logistics, green transportation, automation, the digital economy, and youth entrepreneurship exchanges between Vietnam and China. The participating enterprises also expressed strong interest in contributing to Vietnam’s industrial upgrading and regional supply chain development.
During the meeting, Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang shared updates on the development of economic, trade, and investment relations among Vietnam, China, and Hong Kong in recent years, while outlining the future priorities of Vietnam’s industry and trade sectors.
She highlighted Vietnam’s policies and mechanisms related to international cooperation, trade promotion, and foreign investment attraction, and welcomed greater investment from Chinese enterprises in priority sectors such as high technology, green economy, digital economy, automation, renewable energy, smart manufacturing, and supporting industries.
The Deputy Minister stressed that Vietnam encourages foreign enterprises to establish integrated industrial and supply chain ecosystems with clear localization roadmaps, thereby ensuring long-term and sustainable development in the country.

She also expressed her hope that Sunwah Group would continue to leverage its international network and platform advantages to support the promotion of Vietnamese products in the Chinese market, while organizing more Chinese business delegations to participate in major trade fairs, exhibitions, and investment promotion programmes hosted annually by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

During the discussion, officials from the Ministry’s relevant departments also provided detailed responses to questions raised by Chinese enterprises regarding investment incentives, trade cooperation mechanisms, import-export procedures, and related regulatory matters in Vietnam
