Sunwah Group Meets With Deputy Minister Of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu To Advance Vietnam–China Cooperation

Sunwah On the morning of May 28, 2026, Dr. Jonathan Choi led a delegation of Sunwah Group executives on a courtesy visit to Mr. Nguyen Minh Vu, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam.

During the meeting, Dr. Choi briefed Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu on the activities and outcomes of the Chinese business delegation’s trip to Vietnam. The delegation had held meetings with leaders of several central government ministries and agencies, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, and the Hanoi People’s Committee. Discussions focused on innovation, healthcare, modern agriculture, the digital economy, green development, and investment cooperation, with a number of positive outcomes achieved.

Dr. Choi also introduced the concept of the “Sunwah National Tea” initiative and proposed leveraging Vietnam’s high-quality tea resources to jointly develop a globally recognized “Vietnam National Gift Tea” brand. The initiative aims to enhance the international image, value, and competitiveness of Vietnam’s tea industry.

In addition, Dr. Choi noted that Sunwah Group, through its extensive networks across Mainland China, Hong Kong, and ASEAN, is well positioned to support future visits by senior Vietnamese leaders to China. He expressed Sunwah’s willingness to facilitate exchanges with leading enterprises, business associations, and investment institutions, thereby promoting deeper cooperation in trade, investment, technological innovation, and industrial development.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu highly appreciated Dr. Jonathan Choi’s long-standing contributions to promoting economic, investment, educational, and people-to-people exchanges between Vietnam and China. He also commended the close cooperation between Sunwah Group and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, as well as Sunwah’s active engagement with Vietnamese diplomatic missions and consular offices across China.

The Deputy Minister noted that Sunwah Group has played an important bridging role in fostering cooperation among localities, enterprises, and institutions of both countries, making significant contributions to Vietnam–China economic collaboration and people-to-people exchanges.

He further emphasized that the large-scale Chinese business delegation led by Dr. Jonathan Choi demonstrated the strong confidence and interest of the Chinese business community in Vietnam’s market and development prospects. He regarded the visit as an important step toward promoting practical cooperation between enterprises from both countries.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu expressed his hope that Sunwah Group would continue to leverage its influence within the Chinese and international business communities to provide constructive recommendations to the Vietnamese Government and help address challenges faced by foreign investors in Vietnam. He also highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation in talent development, workforce training, and the cultivation of highly skilled human resources to support Vietnam’s high-quality economic growth.

Furthermore, the Deputy Minister shared that a number of high-level delegations from Vietnam’s central and local governments are scheduled to visit China in 2026. He expressed his hope that Dr. Jonathan Choi and Sunwah Group would continue to support these exchanges and help strengthen cooperation among government agencies, businesses, and social organizations from both countries, thereby creating new opportunities for the development of Vietnam – China relations.
